Creating community connection

In the heart of the Woodward corridor in Detroit Michigan sat an unoccupied retail space, that came with a bit of a dilemma. This particular address presented a few interesting challenges to incoming tenants – number one on that list being the lack of proper facilities. 

Understanding it might take some time to find the ‘right’ tenant for this space, Bedrock Detroit decided to make use of this high profile storefront in a more unconventional way; converting it into a high-touch, immersive experience for the community to enjoy. 

REMIX DETROIT takes an empty space and overlays a very technology centric canvas across every wall. With gameplay centered around something uniquely Detroit, guests are invited to play music in a way that allows both non-musicians to feel the beat, and seasoned players the ability to express new ideas. Sequence tables, LED walls, light tubes, and VJ stations give everyone the chance to participate – and influence the environment.
